The most romantic holiday of the year is approaching, and the air is filled with anticipation. February 14 is a perfect excuse to give each other unforgettable moments and set off on a special trip. NGS22.RU has prepared several inspiring ideas to help you make them a reality. We share how to spend Valentine«s Day in an unconventional way.

Mini-trips for two

Many hotels have already prepared special offers for Valentine«s Day. The cost of packages for two from February 13 to 15 ranges from 12,000 to 66,000 rubles (approximately $133 to $733 at current rates).

One of the most affordable options is glamping — various hotels on the banks of the Katun River. Restaurants can arrange gastronomic dinners, set meals, and, of course, romantic dinners for couples. The cost of accommodation without meals for two for two nights is 12,000 rubles ($133).

Another attractive option is houses on the grounds of the all-season resort Biryuzovaya Katun in Altai Krai. The cost of accommodation without meals for two for two days is 16,800 rubles ($187).

Another budget option is located in the foothills of the Altai Mountains in the Altai District. Here awaits a hotel with a restaurant, a heated yoga hall, a banya, a spa, barbecue and campfire areas on the banks of the Katun. For movie lovers, there is an in-house cinema. The cost of a two-day stay for two is 17,600 rubles ($196).

Day Trips

As an alternative, consider a short excursion around Altai Krai and nearby regions. For instance, you can visit the Botanical Garden located near Novosibirsk«s Akademgorodok.

For fans of ethnic tourism, there are excursions to husky and reindeer breeding centers. A trip to Belokurikha-2 will reveal scenic winding roads, panoramic viewpoints, and art installations.

On the February weekend, you can also arrange a trip to the Peshchersky Waterfall with a visit to holy springs, or head to the paleopark in Gorny Altai (Altai Republic). Prices for such tours range from 2,500 to 3,600 rubles per person ($28 to $40).

For those seeking something truly magical and unique, we suggest visiting the Swan Nature Reserve (Lebediny Zakaznik). This is a place where nature itself creates an atmosphere of love and fidelity. Lake Svetloye, also known as Swan Lake, turns into a fairy-tale spectacle in winter. At this time of year, more than 1,100 of these beautiful birds live here, which are known to be one of the most vivid symbols of devotion.

The ideal time to visit is from late November to March, when the lake hosts the maximum number of feathered inhabitants. Their peak numbers occur from December to February, making Valentine«s Day an excellent opportunity to see this natural wonder.

According to 2025 information, entry to the Swan Reserve is 100 rubles ($1) for adults, children under 6 enter free. We previously reported on how to get to Swan Lake.

If you are a fan of active winter recreation, Altai Krai is an ideal choice. The skiing season here runs from late November to April, offering plenty of opportunities for everyone. We have already talked about the best places to ski and their costs.
