“And when did Novosibirsk become capital of Siberia?”

Yana Churikova called Novosibirsk the capital of Siberia, but not everyone agreed with her.
TV host Yana Churikova visited Novosibirsk and filmed a couple of short videos at the Opera and Ballet Theatre, then posted them on her page on a banned social network. As a result, readers began arguing in the comments about which city can be called the capital of Siberia — Novosibirsk or Krasnoyarsk.
In the video, Yana Churikova asked locals what interesting places there are in the city. She also asked them to describe it in three words and inquired what exists here that is not found anywhere else in Russia. At the beginning of the video, she called Novosibirsk the capital of Siberia — this is what sparked the debate in the comments.
“Where to go in the capital of Siberia? Now you will learn the coolest spots in Novosibirsk from locals,” the TV host said before starting the survey.
Subscribers left dissatisfied comments.
“And when did Novosibirsk become the capital of Siberia? Krasnoyarsk residents… Hello!!! Are you here?”, “But why the capital of Siberia? Who decided that?”, “Since when did Novosibirsk become the capital of Siberia? Are you out of your mind?” — some users wrote under the post.
The TV host herself later filmed another video in which she expressed surprise at the raging debate. She suggested sorting it out with a poll under the post. It is now closed, and 72% of participants voted for Novosibirsk.
