Zabaykalsky Authorities Decide Kindergarten Hours for Sagaalgan

Specialists are monitoring the need for kindergarten attendance on the non-working day of February 18, during the Sagaalgan holiday (Buddhist New Year) in Zabaykalsky. Employees of the Center for Regional Management wrote about this in comments on the Telegram channel of Chita.Ru.
Residents of Zabaykalsky will receive two additional days off at the end of February: due to Sagaalgan on February 18 and Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23.
«Currently, municipal education authorities are monitoring the need for kindergarten attendance on the non-working day, the results of which will be taken into account when making relevant decisions,» the message said.
A festive concert (0+), dedicated to the celebration of Sagaalgan — the New Year according to the eastern calendar, will take place on Lenin Square in Chita on February 18.
The main celebrations will take place in the Aginsky Buryat Okrug: in the settlement of Aginskoye on February 21, in Mogoytuy and Duldurga from February 18 to 21. The celebration of Sagaalgan will be combined with Maslenitsa (Pancake Week) festivities. Spectators will be able to take part in Buryat pastimes, such as «Morin erdeni» (a horse-riding game), where they will need to bring horse equipment and saddle a horse, and traditional Buryat games. A pole will also be set up for those who wish to remove gifts from its top.
