Volgograd Oblast Cancels Lessons for Younger Schoolchildren Due to Frost

Due to severe frosts, educational institutions in Volgograd Oblast are changing their operating schedule. In Kamyshin, an unscheduled day off has been declared for the youngest students, with classes completely canceled.
The day before, the region«s education committee reported switching to a remote format for schools in nine municipalities. These include:
- Alekseevsky District
- Kamyshinsky District
- Kotovsky District
- Leninsky District
- Nekhayevsky District
- Staropoltavsky District
- Uryupinsky District
- Frolovsky District
- the city of Volzhsky
A representative from one of the schools in Kamyshin confirmed that on Thursday, 5 February, students in grades 1–4 will not attend lessons. Classes for them are canceled, including the remote format.
The regional education committee noted that there are no uniform standards for canceling classes due to weather conditions. Such decisions are made at the local level.
«Decisions to cancel classes in the districts are made independently — there are no uniform regulations governing class cancellations based on weather conditions. Due to the climate peculiarities and different temperatures, as well as depending on the territorial location of the district, the standards are set by the municipalities.»
