Volga Federal District's Largest School Opens in Ufa

Residents of Kuznetsovsky Zaton have been eagerly awaiting their school since 2023. Almost everyone has heard about the largest school in the Volga Federal District being built here. For various reasons, the deadlines have been postponed several times, but now the wait is nearly over. The school is planned to open in February.

School staff are busy preparing while workers finish up the final details and polish everything. By and large, only dusting after construction remains. Meanwhile, the UFA1.RU editorial team has already taken a tour inside this giant educational institution.

New schools strive to keep up with the times, and this one is no exception. While classrooms used to have just a blackboard and desks, plus perhaps some posters, now every room is equipped with interactive whiteboards and other themed tools for experiments. Chemistry and physics classrooms, for example, now truly look like labs in a research center.

Entry to the school will be via magnetic cards. If someone tries to enter without authorization, an audible alarm reminiscent of a security system will sound. It is not loud, but the guard will definitely hear it.

In the lobby, some areas have cabinets filled with various books that students can read during breaks. Cloakrooms are now not communal but isolated per class. Everything is vastly different from what most millennials grew up with.

Moreover, the school is truly enormous — without a tour, it is easy to get lost, especially at first. Although there are signs on every floor, it is still better to memorize the route because there are very many corridors and turns beyond them.

The sports hall evokes a sense of nostalgia; many had similar ceilings in their schools. Overall, it is classic: a volleyball net, mini-football goals, and basketball hoops. In addition, there is a gymnastics area. The only difference is that this school has four sports halls. There is no swimming pool, but it does have its own garden.

The construction of the school cost 3.3 billion rubles (about $33 million at current rates). The contract was awarded to the company «Build» — its subsidiary previously finished the notorious «House of Death».
