A teenager attacked a school cleaner on January 22

After the January attack by a teenager on a cleaner at Nizhnekamsk Lyceum No. 37, the director of the institution, Dinara Kotlyar, and the head of the Nizhnekamsk education department, Aidar Garifullin, have resigned. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan.

They made the decision to leave their positions independently. The reasons were not specified.

Recall that the incident at the school occurred on January 22. A student of Nizhnekamsk Lyceum No. 37, wearing a mask, attacked a cleaner with a knife. She received eight stitches in the hospital, and the boy was detained by Rosgvardiya (the National Guard of Russia).

One of the attacking teenager«s classmates said that the 13-year-old boy was strange and interested in the topic of terrorism, but he was not bullied at school. Later it turned out that literally a couple of days before the attack, the teenager»s close friend died.

A criminal case has been initiated for attempted murder and negligence. The injured cleaner will be paid 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,600 at current rates).

After the incident, the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, ordered special meetings to be held in schools to discuss student behavior. Security measures have been strengthened in all schools in Nizhnekamsk.
