In Nefteyugansk, following Surgut, they decided to ease the conditions for school closures due to cold. The criteria were changed by 2 degrees toward higher temperatures.
That is, if previously students from grades 1 to 11 had classes canceled only at -36°C (-33°F) in calm weather, now a closure will be declared already at -34°C (-29°F). The administration made this decision after requests from students and their parents. Announcements about closures are posted in the official communities of the Nefteyugansk Education Department.
It is important that these values are advisory. Parents have the right to decide whether to send their child to school or keep them at home for online learning.
«You make the decision that the child will stay home. Through the electronic journal, the student will be provided with everything necessary in the remote learning mode. If a specific consultation is needed, upon request,» explained acting director of the Nefteyugansk Education Department Natalya Nizamova in a conversation with OTRK Yugra.
