Knife found on student near Ufa after attack

The attack on a teacher by a teenager at a gymnasium in Ufa (link) frightened parents of students from other schools. Thus, a complaint appeared on the social media of the head of Bashkiria, Radii Khabirov, about a 9th grader from Yumatovo who came to class with a knife.

«He brought a knife to school and swung at his desk neighbor during class. The lesson was taught by the assistant principal, who took no action, did not call the police, and the student kept wielding the knife and did not respond to reprimands. The school administration is trying to cover up this outrageous incident with a knife, and the student continues to attend school with impunity every day. The parents of the class and the school fear for their children«s lives,» reported one of Khabirov»s followers on VKontakte.

According to him, the incident occurred on January 29. For reference, the village of Yumatovo is located 40 km from Ufa. The administration of the Ufimsky District responded to the complaint. Officials assured that the situation is under the control of the local education department. Note that, according to their data, it all happened on January 30.

«During a technology lesson in the 9th grade, a teacher noticed that one of the students had a folding knife in the closed position. The information was immediately passed to the homeroom teacher and the assistant principal for educational work. The knife was confiscated, a preventive conversation was held with the student and the class, and parents were informed the same day. The school administration conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and planned to review the situation at the School Prevention Council. A letter was sent to the private security company «Zashchitnik»,» said the district administration.

The complainant, however, insists that the officials were misled: the student allegedly took out the knife more than once, yet the lesson nonetheless continued.

«They«ve let things get to the point where knives are being brought to school! What»s next? Weapons?» — Khabirov«s follower exclaims indignantly.
