In Izhevsk on January 30, due to adverse weather conditions, schools will switch to distance learning format. This was announced by the city administration«s press service.

After a series of frosty days, Udmurtia was hit by heavy snowfalls. On Thursday, January 29, despite all efforts by road services, 9-point traffic jams formed in Izhevsk. Public transport ran with delays.

The head of the republic, Alexander Brechalov, commented on the current situation:

«Friends, it»s the third day of snowfall in the republic. Forecasters promise that it will only intensify. All road equipment is mobilized—more than 500 units are working. We«ve involved everyone we can, including private organizations and enterprises. But it»s impossible to clear all the snow everywhere at once, of course.

Tonight, we expect the peak of the snowfall. It«s important to eliminate danger on the roads, first and foremost, for children. Therefore, school directors will make their own decisions on how students will study tomorrow: remotely or in the usual format. This issue is especially relevant for institutions where transportation is organized.»

As noted by the head of Udmurtia, for now, roads in the region are not planned to be closed. However, everything will depend on the current situation.

According to the press service of the Izhevsk administration, all city schools will operate despite the snowfall. If children come to classes, they will be provided with learning in the usual mode. However, due to weather conditions, students may stay home. In this case, they must complete all assignments provided by the curriculum. For any questions, contact your homeroom teachers and the administration of the educational institution.

Note that on the morning of January 30, kindergartens in Izhevsk will accept pupils as usual.
