February 4: Stavropol Schools Remote, Kindergartens Special Mode

Stavropol Krai is preparing for difficult weather: heavy snowfall, blizzards, and deteriorating road conditions are expected overnight. Against this backdrop, authorities decided to ease the burden on schools and kindergartens to reduce risks for children and parents.
Governor Vladimir Vladimirov announced the adjustment to the school day on February 4 in his Telegram channel.
What will happen to schools and kindergartens on February 4
Kindergartens — free attendance, duty groups are operating;
Schools, grades 1–4 — free attendance;
Schools, grade 5 and above — remote learning.
According to the regional head, this measure will help preserve children«s health and reduce risks on the roads in bad weather. At the same time, regional departments and municipalities have been instructed to check the readiness of utilities and road services, with a special focus on snow clearing and ice control.
Districts begin announcing decisions independently
Some territories have started implementing measures in advance. For example, the head of Shpakovsky District, Igor Serov, has already announced the switch to remote learning and free attendance for kindergartens. In the district, schools will operate online on February 4, and kindergartens on a free schedule.
Other municipalities in the region are expected to announce similar decisions soon.
Authorities are asking parents to closely monitor the weather, decisions by local administrations, and, if possible, keep children at home.
