Yakutia Leads Far East in Gross Regional Product, Says Head

The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolayev, announced that the republic is the leader in gross regional product in the Far East — the volume in 2025 amounted to 2.6 trillion rubles (approximately 28.9 billion USD at current rates). He made this announcement on 28 January in the program «Yakutia, Forward» on the TV channel «Yakutia 24».

The volume of gross regional product has grown since 2023 — then it was 2.5 trillion rubles (approximately 27.8 billion USD at current rates), and in 2024 it increased by 3.2% and reached the current figure of 2.6 trillion rubles (approximately 28.9 billion USD). Also, the Head of the Republic is satisfied with the resolution of social issues in the republic.

«The republic is the leader of the Far East in many indicators — this includes gross regional product, own budget revenues, and issues related to very important social indicators, such as life expectancy, reduction in mortality, demographic indicators,» said Nikolayev on air.

According to him, Yakutia«s leading positions were appreciated by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev. The deputy chairman told Nikolayev this based on the results of January hearings.
