The controversial bar «Mom, I»ll Be Late,« located in the center of Volgograd near the Pedagogical University, has closed after less than three months of operation. Its former owners valued the establishment at 5,990,000 rubles (at current rates, ~$66,600).
In a published ad, it stated: «The sensational fast-food bar »Mom, I«ll Be Late» in Volgograd is for sale. The bar is closed and requires a change of concept and relaunch. Twenty-two million rubles (at current rates, ~$244,400) have been invested, it is equipped with new equipment and is ready for a full cycle.«
Among the potential advantages of the deal, the seller listed a three-year lease agreement, paid software and licenses, architectural and administrative permits, and a registered brand.
According to the ad, the bar«s financial performance was characterized by the following indicators:
- Revenue for the period — 1,930,000 RUB (at current rates, ~$21,400);
- Expenses — 1,850,000 RUB (at current rates, ~$20,600);
- Monthly rent — 220,000 RUB (at current rates, ~$2,400);
- Seating capacity — 75 people;
- Average check — 500 to 1,000 RUB (at current rates, ~$6 to $11).
The bar opened on 3 September, and information about its sale appeared already in late November. At that time, the establishment was still operating, and the seller positioned it as a popular Volgograd project combining fast food and a bar.
The specific reasons for the sale are not disclosed. The ad only briefly notes that they are personal. Initially, the price was not specified, and all questions about the cost were suggested to be discussed in a personal meeting.
