Payment indexation from February 2026: who will receive the raise?

From 1 February 2026, social payments and benefits in Russia will be indexed by 5.6%. This was announced by the Social Fund of Russia. More details on who can expect an increase are provided in our article.
Payments to Federal Beneficiaries
First and foremost, the indexation will affect recipients of monthly cash payments (MCP). These are federal beneficiaries: people with disabilities, combat veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, and other categories.
Significant Increase in Maternity Capital
The amount of maternity capital will be increased for all who have not yet used the certificate funds:
upon first application, the payment will increase to almost 729 thousand rubles (approximately $8,100 at current rates) (an increase of more than 38 thousand rubles, approximately $422 at current rates);
increased capital for the second child will be 963 thousand rubles (approximately $10,700 at current rates), if not applied for previously (an increase of 51 thousand rubles, approximately $567 at current rates);
the balance of funds on already active certificates will also be indexed.
Maternity (family) capital is a cash payment that the state provides upon the birth or adoption of children. The program has been in effect since 2007 and is scheduled until 2030 inclusive.
Increase in Benefits for Families with Children
From February, other payments to families will also increase:
monthly childcare allowance for children up to one and a half years for non-working parents;
one-time allowance at the birth of a child — up to 28.5 thousand rubles (approximately $317 at current rates);
payment upon adoption of a disabled child, a child over 8 years old, or several siblings will exceed 217 thousand rubles (approximately $2,400 at current rates).
Indexation of Insurance Payments for Occupational Diseases and Injuries
Payments under compulsory social insurance for industrial accidents will be increased:
Maximum one-time insurance payment — up to 163.6 thousand rubles (approximately $1,800 at current rates).
Maximum amount of temporary disability benefit (sick leave) — 503 thousand rubles (approximately $5,600 at current rates).
Maximum monthly payment for permanent loss of working capacity — 125.8 thousand rubles (approximately $1,400 at current rates).
Compensation for the Set of Social Services (SSS)
The monetary compensation for the cost of the SSS, which can be received instead of benefits in kind (medicines, vouchers, travel), will also increase by 5.6%, reaching approximately 1.8 thousand rubles (approximately $20 at current rates).
The set of social services (SSS) is a form of support that the state provides to certain categories of citizens. It allows for free medicines, treatment at a sanatorium, and travel to the treatment site.
All recipients of the listed support measures will see an increase in amounts in February payments. The recalculation will be made by the Social Fund on a no-application basis.
As previously reported by the press service of the Ministry of Labor, the February indexation will affect more than 40 payments. How they will grow throughout the year was discussed in a separate article.
