Omsk Mortgages Surge 61.8%, Average Loan 3.81M Rubles

In the first five months of 2026, Omsk residents took out 61.8% more mortgage loans than in the same period in 2025. The average loan amount was 3.81 million rubles ($42,300 at current rates). In the ranking of Russian regions for mortgage development by RIA Novosti, Omsk Oblast took 48th place.
Analysts also calculated that over the past 12 months, there were 14 mortgage loans per 1,000 economically active residents. The share of overdue debt as of June 1, 2026, was 1.07%.
Most mortgages are taken out by residents of the Republic of Tyva (26.6 per 1,000 people), the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (25.9), Yakutia (24.9), Arkhangelsk Oblast (24.7), and Buryatia (24.3).
The lowest rates are in Crimea (7), the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (6.2), Chechnya (5.8), Dagestan (3.6), and Ingushetia (3.4).
Not everyone can take out a mortgage — it is a serious financial burden. The average monthly payment for such a loan for a one-room apartment in Omsk is 85,600 rubles ($951 at current rates).
