Ministry of Natural Resources reports on minerals mined in Altai Krai

The regional Ministry of Natural Resources has listed silver and gold as among the primary minerals extracted in Altai Krai.

The regional Ministry of Natural Resources has informed NGS22.RU about the types and volumes of minerals extracted in Altai Krai.
According to the department, among the most economically significant types of minerals are polymetallic ores, sodium sulfate, raw materials for cement production, as well as mineral and drinking groundwater.
Special attention is given to gold and silver. As of early 2025, Altai Krai has recorded reserves from 51 deposits. In 2024, 1,093 kg of gold was mined. Total reserves in the krai are estimated at 45,897.9 kg. As for silver, reserves from 20 deposits are recorded as of the same date. In total, 61.2 tonnes of silver were mined in the reporting year. Silver reserves in Altai Krai as of early 2025 amount to 2,986.7 tonnes.
Brown coal reserves are also of considerable importance. There are two deposits located in Altai Krai. Balance reserves of brown coal in the distributed fund reach 186.2 million tonnes, and in the undistributed fund — 8,504 thousand tonnes.
In addition, Altai Krai has impressive reserves of common minerals actively used in construction. These resources not only fully cover the current and future needs of the krai itself but also supply neighboring regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
