Marketplace Competition Closes Popular Hypermarket in Tolyatti

Difficult times are coming for handicraft and creativity enthusiasts in Tolyatti (Samara Oblast). Specialized stores in the city have begun closing, leaving residents without convenient outlets to purchase materials.

The first loss was the well-known Leonardo store for decoration, hobby and craft supplies, located in the Park House shopping center. It had its last day of operation on February 1.
«Dear customers! We will be glad to see you at stores in the city of Samara,» the announcement said.
This news upset many Tolyatti craftspeople, for whom the store was the main hub for inspiration and shopping.
However, the wave of closures apparently will not end there. According to various sources, the Black River baguette workshop, located in the Kapital shopping center on Dzerzhinskogo Street, will also cease business in the city, following Leonardo. The exact date of its closure has not yet been announced. Thus, in the near future Tolyatti may be left completely without specialized craft stores.
Tolyatti residents believe that specialized departments could not compete with online platforms.
«Marketplaces have already buried more than one store,» residents commented.
The year began with losses for the business sphere of the automotive city — the legendary cafe-bakery where residents from all districts bought bread closed. Almost simultaneously with The Little Prince, another popular establishment also closed. It was a fast food restaurant serving tteokbokki, kimbap, and jelly desserts in the shape of cute bears from the well-known Korean franchise Chico.
