In the Blagovarsky District of Bashkiria, sugar beet harvesting is still ongoing. At least, that«s what local residents are complaining about. A reader contacted the editorial office of UFA1.RU with a message that at night, KAMAZ trucks are rumbling on the roads:
“How much longer can this go on? Where can we write? They’ve been hauling their beets all night on the new road where asphalt was laid in summer. The walls are even shaking from it. Traffic police come, sometimes during the day, and even then rarely. Please help us understand the situation. It«s just impossible, we have no strength left.”
As the resident further writes, up to 50 KAMAZ trucks pass along the street, which is lit by a single lamp. He is concerned about the condition of the road — according to him, the asphalt to the village of Safarovo is already broken.
“They just laid asphalt this summer. Please help publicize this situation, it’s impossible to live. Constant noise from these KAMAZ trucks, what was happening in summer — it«s just terrible. It»s scary to go outside — they fly at 100 km/h on this road.”
The administration of Blagovarsky District explained the situation: in autumn, the agricultural producer himself asked to suspend work to avoid damaging the freshly laid surface. Now harvesting has resumed because the crop needs to be sent for processing — it can«t lie in the field for long. The administration also clarified that 26–30 vehicles pass on the road per day, and work will soon be completed.
As reported to the UFA1.RU journalist by the district administration, the beets are being transported by LLC Bashkir-Agroinvest — an agricultural enterprise operating since 2005. The company«s total revenue for 2024 amounted to 3.9 billion rubles (approximately $43.3 million at current rates). Work is mainly carried out at night because during the day the equipment is busy on more remote plots.
The head of Balyshinsky Village Council, Radik Gabidullin, added:
“Bashkir-Agroinvest rents fields in our village council. They grow beets, which are now being transported to Chishmy. As we were told, the work will last another 10–15 days.”
According to him, harvesting is done at night because during the day KAMAZ trucks work on distant fields.
“They have a lot of land across the republic — eleven thousand hectares. And in autumn we prohibited transportation because it rained for a month — this year they just laid asphalt. We asked them not to transport for now. That«s why they are transporting now,” the head of the village council said.
Now equipment — tractors and loaders — is clearing snow in the fields and sending the harvest to Chishmy, presumably to a sugar refinery.
