Agricultural fields in Ryazan Oblast yielded record amounts of grain and oilseeds last year.
Last year was the most bountiful in the region«s history following the harvest campaign, Governor Pavel Malkov said in his Telegram channel.
During last year«s harvest campaign, over 3.2 million tons of grain and 700,000 tons of oilseed crops were gathered. »This is more than in all previous record years. Moreover, due to challenging weather conditions, the harvest of oilseed crops continued even in winter,« Malkov wrote.
The year was also successful for Ryazan«s livestock farming. Over the year, more than 1.4 billion eggs were produced. And the volumes of milk and meat reached their highest in the last 30 years — 625,000 and 140,000 tons. Recently, for the first time in the region»s history, 1,800 tons of milk were produced in a single day.
Now, the key task, according to Malkov, is high-quality preparation for the new season — preparing seeds, machinery, fuel, and everything necessary for stable operation.
