Irkutsk Gas Station Network Lifts Fuel Limits

The OMNI gas station chain has lifted limits on the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel. This was reported to the IrCity portal by the company.

«We are happy to share good news! The OMNI gas station network is operating normally. Fuel is dispensed without restrictions. All types of fuel are available at our gas stations,» the company said in a statement.

At Krajsneft gas stations, a limit of 40 liters per vehicle remains in effect, while at BRK gas stations, there is a limit of 20 liters of gasoline and 100 liters of diesel fuel per car.

Earlier, the company resumed sales of AI-92 and AI-95 at all its gas stations in Irkutsk Oblast.

Irkutsk Oblast faced a fuel shortage in mid-June. Because of this, the head of the Priangarye region, Igor Kobzev, called for maximum economical use of gasoline and urged people to drive less to overcome the fuel crisis. The fuel shortage in Priangarye exceeded 80% by the end of the month.

After that, a high-alert regime was introduced in the region, queues at Rosneft gas stations were regulated, and the sale of gasoline in cans and other containers was banned. From July 3, private companies began gradually resuming retail gasoline sales. The first were Krajsneft and BRK, followed by OMNI a few days later.

Later, Kobzev defined a list of companies that could refuel out of turn and allowed residents of remote areas and farmers to pour fuel into cans.
