A forecast has emerged on how food prices will change in the Samara region in the first half of 2026.
«Milk, bakery products, apples, and cottage cheese may show growth rates above the target. Moderate growth is expected for butter, sour cream, sugar, chicken, and buckwheat. Whereas pasta and eggs might show growth rates below target values. This dynamic is explained by a combination of federal inflation factors, tax changes, and regional supply and demand specifics, with the general inflation trend in the region gradually slowing down by mid-year,» explained Yaroslav Kabakov, director of strategy at Finam Investment Company (IC Finam), at the request of 63.RU.
The expert also named the factors that will influence prices:
«The increase in VAT to 22% since the beginning of the year, rising logistics and production costs, as well as seasonal price fluctuations for fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.»
Yaroslav Kabakov gave this comment to 63.RU for an article about which products became cheaper and which became most expensive in the Samara region over the year — from early January 2025 to early 2026.
