Expert forecasts top food price hikes in Samara by summer

A forecast has appeared on how food prices in Samara Region will change in the first half of 2026.
«Milk, baked goods, apples, and cottage cheese may show growth rates above the target. Moderate growth is expected for butter, sour cream, sugar, chicken, and buckwheat. Meanwhile, pasta and eggs may show growth rates below target values. This dynamic is explained by a combination of federal inflationary factors, tax changes, and regional supply and demand specifics, with the overall inflation trend in the region expected to gradually slow down by mid-year,» explained Yaroslav Kabakov, strategy director at Finam Investment Company, at the request of 63.RU.
The expert also named factors that will affect prices:
«Increase in VAT to 22% from the start of the year, rise in logistics and production costs, as well as seasonal price fluctuations for fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.»
Yaroslav Kabakov gave this comment to 63.RU regarding material on which products became cheaper and which became most expensive in Samara Region over the year — from early January 2025 to early 2026.
