Court orders Chelny resident to repay kickboxing club grant

The court in Naberezhnye Chelny has ordered the recovery of 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,000 at current rates) from former individual entrepreneur Aidar Muzafarov, which were previously issued to him by the Agency for Investment Development of Tatarstan (AID). This was reported by Chelny-biz.ru citing the court«s press service.
The funds were intended for a noble purpose — promoting physical education in Chelny through the opening of a sports club for kickboxing. However, the man did not provide any reports and violated the contract terms.
Subsequently, AID terminated the contract with the resident and asked for the grant to be returned, but Muzafarov ignored the request. Then the Ministry of Finance stepped in — with a lawsuit to the court.
In court, the ex-entrepreneur claimed that he complied with all conditions and regularly sent reports electronically, but could not provide the documents. Also, Muzafarov has lost his individual entrepreneur status. The court granted the claim. The decision has not yet taken legal effect.
Recall that recently the head of AID, Talia Minullina, joked about close family ties among residents of Tatarstan, speaking about investors« work. She noted that »it is a republic where matchmaker, brother, son-in-law — we are all relatives here.«
