Composite Valley Center Tula Costs 5 Billion Rubles

The construction of the scientific center of the «Composite Valley» cluster in Tula will cost 5 billion rubles (approximately $55 million at current rates). This was announced at a meeting of the Council on Higher Education and Science.
Construction of the facility will begin in 2026 — the total area of the scientific center is 10,000 square meters. It will be located on Kominterna Street, where a college previously stood.
The main buildings of the cluster will be located in the Uzlovsky District — over 24,060 square meters have been allocated there. And the land plots allocated for the cluster are approximately 319,813 square meters.
At the same time, 5 billion rubles is only a third of the funds planned to be raised by 2030. The plan is to collect about 15.3 billion rubles (approximately $168 million at current rates) for the construction of the cluster.
Part of these funds comes from the federal budget. The second largest expenditure is the regional budget. The least amount was raised from private investors — by the end of 2023, about 75 million rubles (approximately $825,000 at current rates) had been attracted.
According to the plan, by 2036, «Composite Valley» should provide 2,400 jobs for highly qualified specialists and produce at least 10% of the country«s composite materials.
