Yakutia ranked 12th in the country«s regional rating for the affordability of AI-92 fuel. Every resident of the republic can buy 1.5 thousand liters of AI-92 gasoline with their average monthly salary, which is almost 200 liters more than the national average. At the same time, the price of gasoline in 2025 increased by 8.2%, which is also much lower than in other regions. This was reported on February 2 by analysts from RIA Novosti.

Analysts calculated gasoline affordability based on the average monthly wage of Yakutia residents and the increase in gasoline prices, taking inflation into account.

Thus, in December, AI-92 gasoline in Yakutia cost 75.87 rubles (about $0.84 at current rates). This is despite the fact that the all-Russian level was 61.39 rubles (about $0.68) per liter. In 2025, the price of gasoline in the republic increased by 8%, one and a half times the inflation rate. But in other regions the situation is no better: an increase of almost seven times was recorded in Dagestan (+24.2%), Transbaikal Territory (+23.4%), and Altai (+21.9%).

Across the country, AI-92 increased by 11.3% over the year, which is twice the inflation rate.

Note that by the beginning of 2026 the figures had changed: the price of AI-92 gasoline on January 4 was 79 rubles (about $0.88), while AI-95 was 81.50 rubles (about $0.91).

According to RIA experts, Yakutia is among the top ten regions in the country where residents can buy 1,500 liters of gasoline with their average monthly salary, while the all-Russian level is 1,393 liters. That is, based on the recalculation of gasoline prices in 2025, every Yakutia resident earns an average of 113,000 rubles (about $1,300 at current rates). By the way, at the end of the year, Yakutia was among the top three regions of the Far East with the highest salary offers — 100,700 rubles (about $1,100) per month.

The most fuel can be bought by residents of Moscow (61.43 rubles, about $0.68), Chukotka (74 rubles, about $0.82), and Yamal (62.86 rubles, about $0.70), while the least — residents of Ingushetia and Dagestan (no more than 612 liters).
