Omsk Residents Decry Soot-Blackened Snow, Cite Health Risks

A local resident shared a photo showing snow blackened by soot in a city park.
Residents of Omsk continue to complain about the environmental situation in the region. A city resident drew attention to snow covered with soot in the park named after the 30th anniversary of the Komsomol. Information about this appeared in the Telegram channel «Emergency Omsk.»
According to the man, finding white snow in the city is not an easy task.
«I live in the Central Administrative District, my child is 6 years old, he, like all children, loves to play in the snow, but now in the yard, white snow cannot be found. Today we went to the park — there is practically no snow there either, soot everywhere! The child is essentially forced to play in ash from head to toe, and in spring all this will be inhaled. This way, from a young age, one can »earn« themselves cancer.»
The Omsk resident stated that dozens of calls to monitoring services have yielded no results.
«We are dying here from this soot and reagents, like cockroaches from dichlorvos. We no longer have the strength to call monitoring or write anywhere.»
Earlier, NGS55.RU reported that Omsk residents reacted strongly to the chemical fog in the city.
