Oil in Lungs: Taganrog Air After Drone Attack

In Taganrog, air pollution from oil combustion products was recorded. This was reported to 161.RU by the Chernomoro-Azovskoye Morskoye Upravleniye Rosprirodnadzora (Black Sea-Azov Marine Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources). The cause was a fire at oil product tanks in the seaport after a drone attack.
The contamination spread within the boundaries of the Taganrog seaport. The port itself is located within the city. It is unknown whether air quality was measured outside the port — for example, in residential areas.
In Rosprirodnadzor, 161.RU was told that the fact of water and shore pollution of the Taganrog Bay by oil products has been confirmed.
Earlier, 161.RU reported that Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova announced an inspection of the coast for traces of oil products. Its results are still inconclusive. Kambulova also said there was no oil on the central beaches, but it was there that we found bags of mazut (heavy fuel oil). More about the current situation in Taganrog and how people and the sea are experiencing the ecological crisis can be read in this report by 161.RU.
