Nizhny Novgorod Minister Reprimanded Over Illegal Park Buildings

Nizhny Novgorod's forestry minister has been reprimanded over illegal structures found in a national park, which have since been demolished.

The regional interdistrict environmental prosecutor«s office issued a reprimand to the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife Protection of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Roman Vorobyov, for violations related to illegal buildings in the national park, the office reported.

Several structures were found in the specially protected area «Nizhny Novgorod Volga Region named after V. A. Lebedev». This national park is partially located in the Sosnovskoye district forestry.

When, under what circumstances, and who illegally built a «cozy nest» in the national park has not been reported. However, according to the office, the structures have now been demolished. Judging by photos, they consisted of a small wooden house and a metal garage.

In January, it became known that in Nizhny Novgorod, the areas around three long-lived poplar trees were designated as protected zones. Within their boundaries, any activity that negatively impacts the natural monument is prohibited. The corresponding governor«s decrees were published on the legal acts portal.
