Vyacheslav Starodubtsev, NOVAT Chief Director, Receives New Appointment

Vyacheslav Starodubtsev has headed the Novosibirsk branch of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia. The conference of the regional branch took place today, February 2, at the Actor«s House.

At the meeting, they summarized the work of the branch for 2021–2026 and elected a new chairman and the presidium composition.

The candidacy of Vyacheslav Starodubtsev, chief director of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater and head of the conservatory, was supported almost unanimously.

The new chairman outlined the main areas of work: development of the theater community, popularization of theater among residents of the region, and cooperation with educational and creative organizations.

He also proposed creating a Board of Directors of theater institutions and a youth council with the participation of students from the theater institute, conservatory, and choreographic school.

On January 16, it became known that former artistic director of NOVAT Vladimir Kekhman and the Mikhailovsky Theater terminated their employment contract by mutual agreement.
