In Yekaterinburg«s Kosmos concert hall on February 4, a closed party was held to mark the opening of the Year of Ural Rock. Among the invited guests were:
- Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexei Orlov;
- Sverdlovsk Region Health Minister Tatyana Savinova;
- Acting Rector of UrFU Ilya Obabkov;
- leader of the band Agata Kristi Vadim Samoilov;
- founder of the band Urfin Jus Alexander Pantykin;
- historiographer Dmitry Karasyuk and other notable figures.

The program opened with a medley of Ural rock hits performed by the B.A.C.H. orchestra. The evening ended with an autograph session, tickets for which cost from 10,000 to 15,000 rubles ($111–$167 at current rates).
