«The contractor on the project has been changed, and once again they promise to hand over the theater this year,» the governor reported.

Overall, much inside the theater is already complete. However, the recording shows an unfinished stage — in its place is a large pit. The video also shows several workers who were conducting construction work on Saturday.

The theater is now being repaired by the company Art RemStroy. The contract is worth 294.5 million rubles (approximately $3.2 million at current rates). The previous contractor, Stroytsentr-Irkutsk, was supposed to complete all work by the end of 2025, and in December, it was expected that the first performance would be held at the Youth Theater. The Ministry of Culture was counting on this, but the plans were not destined to come true.

Minister of Culture Yuri Trofimov, as well as Minister of Construction Vladimir Rashko and Vice Governor Ivan Kolesnik, accompanied Vitaly Khotsenko in the theater building. The published recording shows that the tour of the building for the officials was conducted by the owner of Art RemStroy, Karen Martoyan.

Earlier we reported that the next deadline for the theater«s completion is August 31, 2026.
