TV host, producer, and director Alexander Oleinikov died last night, his son Maxim told RBC. Sources close to the artist told TASS that the cause of death for the 60-year-old cultural figure may have been a blood clot.

Oleinikov«s daughter Darya, in a conversation with MSK1.RU, confirmed her father»s death but could not name the cause.

«Yes, it»s true. No [the cause is not known], we are still waiting, because it was a sudden death,« she said.

Alexander Oleinikov became widely known in the 1990s, working for the channels TV-6, NTV, Rossiya, and Channel One. He produced the films «Love-Carrot,» «Detective for a Million,» and others, as well as numerous programs. On the show «Evening Urgant,» he was a co-host for one season.

Stars have already begun to speak out in memory of the deceased producer. Singer Lolita Milyavskaya wrote: «When will this end... Sanya, comrade of my youth and a huge talent... You wouldn»t like the old-age lexicon... I won«t... R.I.P.»

Writer Marina Yudenich said that she worked with Oleinikov at NTV and he was striking for his «relaxed calm, serenity, and sybaritism raised to an absolute.»

«The last time we met was exactly a year ago, at an anniversary celebration. Against the backdrop of smartly dressed, solemn people, he again amazed with his relaxed knitted sweater and sincere joy of meeting. It seemed he was still walking through life lightly and serenely. And now. Rest in peace,» she wrote on Telegram.

The farewell ceremony is preliminarily scheduled for January 27.

Last September, Oleinikov attended the farewell for TV host Tigran Keosayan, and before that — for director Yuri Moroz. At the time, he said that the two had «created a lot together,» they just hadn«t managed to quarrel.
