Soviet Space Monument in Samara Protected

The monument was erected in the late 1960s and is now a protected cultural heritage site.
In Samara, the boundaries of a cultural heritage site have been approved. The regional state inspection for the protection of such objects issued an order to this effect.
This concerns the Monument to Space Explorers. It is located in a small square at the corner of Gagarin and Pobeda streets. The monument was erected in the late 1960s. By order of the inspection, the monument was removed from the register of identified objects and entered into the unified state register as a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
According to the appendix to the order, the following are now prohibited within the boundaries of the site:
capital construction;
earthworks, construction, and utility works;
installation of large antennas;
laying of engineering infrastructure facilities by overhead methods;
installation of kiosks and pavilions;
destruction of the object.
At the end of 2025, authorities also became concerned with preserving a monument in central Samara. Additional restrictions decided to impose on the territory where the Lindov Barracks are located.
