Pugacheva Reveals Major Health Struggles

Since leaving the country, Pugacheva has visibly lost weight and now uses a cane.
Alla Pugacheva has been a rare guest at social events lately, sparking rumors about her health. At the «Rendezvous» festival in Jurmala, her appearance with a cane fueled further speculation.
Journalists initially thought the cane was part of her stage style, but the singer revealed a more serious story.
Pugacheva admitted she is recovering from a severe hip fracture.
— The thing is, I was immobile for four months because I fell, — she explained. — In short, I broke my leg, my hip joint, and that«s it. Honestly, I didn»t think I«d ever get up. I had panic attacks, it was awful. Four months. I was warned I could be bedridden for up to six months. But then a person came and said: »It all depends on you, on willpower. Overcome the pain — overcome everything.« And I»m still overcoming it, and I think in another three or four months, I«ll walk.
She stressed her current mobility issues are unrelated to past heart surgeries, dismissing media speculation. Her temporary weakness stems solely from the joint injury.
— I really had a hard time with it all. But I pulled myself together and started walking. First with a cane, then without. I only take it when I need to feel steady.
The singer accidentally stumbled and fell this spring, leading to hospitalization at a private international clinic in Limassol. A team of top specialists — surgeons, orthopedists, and several traumatologists — handled her case. She underwent major surgery followed by a long bed rest.
Pugacheva is at high cardiovascular risk, so she monitors her health meticulously, undergoing cardiac check-ups twice a year. Doctors track her vessels and atherosclerotic plaques to prevent critical artery narrowing.
She has had at least four cardiac stenting procedures, all successful in leading Russian clinics. These minimally invasive operations place expandable scaffolds in narrowed heart arteries.
She also manages chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes.
In interviews, Pugacheva candidly discusses aging and shares wellness tips. She recalls a tough postwar childhood, with effects felt only now.
The singer remains optimistic, citing good genetics: her parents lived to 64, her grandmother to 74, and many long-lived relatives on her father«s side.
