Konstantin Ernst dismisses criticism of Bogomolov's MHAT rector appointment

Television producer Konstantin Ernst has spoken in support of director Konstantin Bogomolov, who was appointed acting rector of the MHAT School-Studio. Notable alumni, including Yulia Menshova, Mark Bogatyrev, Maryana Spivak, and others, have opposed this decision.
In the appeal, it was stated that appointing a director not directly connected to the school-studio goes against established traditions.
On the red carpet of the «Golden Eagle» film award, which is held at Mosfilm, he praised Bogomolov«s skills.
«The naive idea that if you didn»t study at the school-studio, you are not a bearer of the Russian psychological theatre school is nonsense. Konstantin is a talented director who largely grew up within its walls because he was invited by Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov. And he is an effective artistic director and manager, which is undoubtedly important for the school-studio now,« Ernst stated.
For more details on what is happening with the MHAT School-Studio, we covered it in this article.
Earlier, there were reshuffles in Moscow museums. Olga Galaktionova left her position as director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts to head the Tretyakov Gallery, and her place was taken by Yekaterina Pronicheva. It was her younger sister Elena who had been leading the Tretyakov until today. MSK1.RU detailed her path.
