Guitarist Yuri Rymanov of Lyube and VIA Leysya Pesnya Dies

Russian guitarist, composer, and vocalist Yuri Rymanov has died at the age of 70. The sad news was confirmed by the ensemble VIA «Leysya, Pesnya», where the musician worked for a long time.
«Our Yura has left us… He undoubtedly brought into our collective a special, incomparable air of performance quality,» the ensemble said in a message on VKontakte.
In an official statement, colleagues expressed deep sorrow. The musicians emphasized that Rymanov always remained for them that high creative bar, «to the level of which they aspired to reach.» The ensemble also noted that his performance talent was particularly memorable in their joint work on the show «Superstar,» where they became finalists of the competition.
According to TASS, the musician died in a clinic from heart problems. The date and place of the funeral have not yet been announced.
Yuri Rymanov was born on March 8, 1956, in Kstovo, Gorky Oblast. His career began in 1977 as part of VIA «Shestero Molodykh» (Six Young Men). The most well-known stages of his work were the periods from 1998 to 2000 and from 2002 to 2008, when he was the guitarist in the group Lyube. He also collaborated with Vladimir Vysotsky and VIA «Leysya, Pesnya», and in 2010 he joined the tribute group Dipped in Purple.
