Golden Eagle Awards: Best Film and Top Actors Honored in Moscow

On Friday, January 30, the 24th ceremonial award ceremony for the Golden Eagle prize took place at the pavilion of the Mosfilm film concern in Moscow. Winners received statuettes in 23 categories.

Our colleagues from MSK1.RU attended the awards and reported on who received the honors.

The Golden Eagle is the national film award of Russia, presented by the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia. It has been awarded since 2002. Nominees are selected by an expert council, and the prize is awarded based on a vote by academy members.

The best film this year was recognized as «August» (16+), directed by Nikita Vysotsky and Ilya Lebedev — the film collected a total of six awards. The trio of leading actors in the film — Sergei Bezrukov, Pavel Tabakov, and Nikita Kologrivy — received the award in the «Best Actor» category.

The award for best actress went to actress Elena Lyadova. She starred in the sports film «First on Olympus» (12+).

The best director of the year was recognized as 31-year-old Felix Umarov, who directed the film «Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin» (18+). Its screenwriters Vasily Zorky and Andrei Kurganov took the awards for best screenplay.

Statuettes for best supporting roles went to Anna Chipovskaya and Sergei Gilev (film «Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin»).

The best television series was recognized as «Atom» (16+). For her role in it, Ekaterina Klimova received the award for «Best Actress on Television», and Alexei Guskov — «Best Actor on Television».

The series «Plevako» (18+) received the Golden Eagle as the best online platform project. The best actors in an online series were Sergei Bezrukov and Olga Lerman.

best animated film — «Bulgakov», dir. Stanislav Sokolov;

best visual effects — Online VFX Studio (film «August»);

best non-fiction film — «The Way», dir. Svetlana Muzychenko;

best film editing — Ilya Lebedev (film «August»);

best sound design — Alexei Samodelko (film «Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin»);

best film music — Dmitry Emelyanov (film «August»);

best costume designer — Tatyana Patrakhaltseva (film «Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin»).
