Chelybinsk Woman Advances to 'The Voice' After Ten Auditions

Singer Alexandra Karabeshkina, representing Chelyabinsk, successfully passed the blind auditions stage in the popular vocal project «The Voice» on Channel One. The episode with her participation was aired on Friday, January 23.

The 26-year-old contestant noted in her introduction that she has been singing since the age of three. On stage, she performed the song «Privet» (Hello) by Zhenya Trofimov and the group «Komnaty Kultury» (Rooms of Culture), adding her own improvisation. Later, Karabeshkina explained that she added lyrics about her feelings before going on stage and about the future that arrived after mentor Ildar Abdrazakov turned his chair. This gesture means that the singer will now join his team.

Alexandra told the mentors about her specialization in improvisation, noting her ability to compose songs instantly. At the jury«s request, she immediately created and performed a new verse, which drew a positive response.

«This is very cool!» exclaimed Vladimir Presnyakov.

«Well done!» supported her colleague Pelageya.

«You are a talent,» summarized Anna Asti.

Discussion of her improvisational skills continued among the jury members even after the performer left the stage.

In an interview after the performance, the Chelyabinsk native revealed details of her long journey to participating in the project: «This is not my first attempt, this is my tenth audition, and here I am finally. I started applying back in »The Voice Kids« when I was little. But we always get only what we are ready for, which means I was ready right now.»

Alexandra Karabeshkina already has experience winning television competitions. A year ago, she brought victory to Bianka«s team on the show »Musical Intuition« on the TNT channel. The singer is a graduate of the Chelyabinsk pop vocal studio »Tutti«, which is run by her mother Elena Karabeshkina. Last year, Alexandra completed her master»s degree at the Moscow State Institute of Culture, where she now teaches.
