Art World Exhibition Opens in Nizhny Novgorod

The «Art World» exhibition opened on January 31 at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair. This is the ninth event that brings together authors from Russia and abroad, providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity and engage in dialogue with viewers.

This year, the key theme chosen is «Constellation of Cultures,» dedicated to exploring the cultural heritage, traditions, languages, and arts of various countries. The exhibition features about 400 artists from 29 Russian cities and 18 states, including China, Denmark, France, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia.

Among the international blocks, the project «Facets of the Celestial Empire» is presented with the participation of five photographers from China and Russia.

Exhibition organizer Ksenia Fedoseeva-Tsaritsynskaya said: «Our guests have come to Russia for the first time. In Nizhny Novgorod, they visited the Art Museum and the Russian Museum of Photography. Today they finally reached the Nizhny Novgorod Fair to communicate with viewers, with those who want to touch Chinese art. Also, a woman from Nizhny Novgorod participated in this exposition; she was in China on a creative journey last year and this year and made a wonderful series of photographs, very bright and soulful. She observed China closely and revealed it from her perspective, with her artistic vision. It turned into a wonderful international project.»

From Nizhny Novgorod, artist Marina Novoselskaya is participating in the exhibition; in her paintings, she imitates old photographs, recreating the atmosphere of the past.

«The photographs themselves do not convey movement, life. We had the idea to animate them with painting, to add people, horses, movement, as if they are frozen frames of history. It also creates a time travel effect,» shared Marina Novoselskaya«s husband.

Traditionally, the exhibition supports charitable initiatives. At the «Art Helps» stand, one can purchase works, with proceeds going to create an inclusive theater for children with autism.

Visitors have the opportunity to communicate with the authors and buy liked works. Masterclasses in watercolor, painting, portrait from life, calligraphy, and other creative directions are also held.
