Writer Tatiana Ustinova's House Robbed Near Yaroslavl

A robbery took place at the residence of author Tatiana Ustinova in the Yaroslavl region.

The theft occurred on February 2 at the house of 57-year-old Tatiana Ustinova, located in the village of Vyatskoye in the Nekrasovsky District of Yaroslavl Region.

The perpetrators took diamonds and other valuables from the residence. The total damage from their actions is preliminarily estimated at 10 million rubles (approximately $100,000).

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 158 of the Russian Criminal Code regarding theft on an especially large scale. According to the classification, an especially large scale is considered when the property value exceeds one million rubles (approximately $10,000).

«Police officers are conducting activities aimed at establishing all circumstances of the incident,» reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs department for Yaroslavl Region.

Tatiana Ustinova is a well-known Russian writer, author of detective novels, screenwriter, translator, and television host. Among her most popular books:

  • «One Shadow for Two»
For five years, she was a co-host of the TV show «Hour of Judgment».

The writer herself has not yet commented on the incident.

Tatiana Ustinova purchased the house in Vyatskoye in 2024, as she mentioned in an interview with «Rossiyskaya Gazeta». This village inspired her to write the detective novel «Selfie with Destiny», where it appears under the name Sokolniche. The writer and her family have repeatedly vacationed here since 2012, and in 2017, a creative meeting dedicated to this book and its film adaptation took place in Vyatskoye.
