Two Men Beaten in Yekaterinburg Over Long Hair

In Yekaterinburg, a group of five to seven people, including two women, attacked two 24-year-old friends. The incident occurred in the morning of August 1 near a store. The assailants set upon the men because of their long hair, the mother of one of the victims told E1.RU.

According to her, on the evening of July 31 her son came to his friend«s place to see him off to Israel. They cooked dinner, drank two cans of beer, and toward morning decided to go out for cigarettes to a store called Pivko on Landyshevaya Street. There the friends encountered a group of young people.

“The hooligans started harassing my son about his haircut. They said he was supposedly gay. My son and his friend told them they were mistaken. But one of that group said they needed to be taught a lesson. The guys didn«t immediately realize they were going to be beaten,” our interviewee said.

After that, the young men were brutally beaten. One of them was knocked out by a blow to the head, and the other had his jaw broken in two places.

“My son«s friend was kicked in the head. When my son»s jaw was broken, he didn«t immediately understand it, he was in shock. They somehow called a taxi and managed to escape. They sat there covered in blood, the taxi driver helped them. My son had three teeth removed and had to undergo two surgeries. He doesn»t remember anything at all,” the victim«s mother said.

Her child was discharged from the hospital on August 6. They filed statements with the police. Law enforcement officers are conducting an investigation.

“It feels like such situations are becoming commonplace. People get beaten for nothing. They just felt like it and beat them up. They attack anyone. Young people shouldn«t behave like that. Let»s protect our kids from the total trust that the nineties are over. They are naive and open to the world, but experience shows that life can be dangerous,” the interviewee concluded.
