Two brothers detained over fatal sauna fire in Kuzbass
The two brothers, who were detained by police, had been declared wanted after the incident that claimed five lives.
In Kuzbass, a restraining measure will be selected for the co-owners of a Prokopyevsk sauna where five teenagers died in a fire the day before. On Monday, February 2, their detention was reported by the Central Court of Kemerovo.
The department reported that today, law enforcement officers detained the sauna owner and his brother, who jointly ran the bath business in Prokopyevsk. In court, they will be presented with charges related to a criminal case on negligence.
In the sauna on Kubanskaya Street, which the two entrepreneurs rented to provide services, five teenagers died in a fire on the evening of January 31 while celebrating birthdays there. It became known that there were no fire extinguishing means in the premises, as well as available emergency exits.
Earlier, investigators detained a 36-year-old female administrator of the establishment, who worked there unofficially. According to the sister of a girl who managed to escape from the burning building, it was she who reported the fire. However, according to the investigation, her actions were the cause of the fire.
