Tula police seek water tower thieves at Polenovo

In the Tula region, a criminal case was opened over the theft of a water tower from the territory of the V. D. Polenov Museum-Estate in the Zaoksky District. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee of Russia.
The criminal case was opened under the article on embezzlement of state property using official position on a large scale. This article carries a fine of 100,000 rubles (approximately $1,100 at current rates) or imprisonment for up to 6 years.
At the moment, investigators are trying to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Searches and interrogations are being conducted.
No charges have been filed against anyone so far. Law enforcement is trying to identify the official responsible for the embezzlement.
On the night of February 5, in Tula, a terrible tragedy occurred — a family died in a fire, a mother and child. Firefighters were unable to save them from the flames. The causes of the incident are being determined.
