Trucker to stand trial after fatal crash burns two trucks on Novosibirsk highway

In Novosibirsk Oblast, a criminal case has been sent to court regarding a fatal traffic accident that occurred on the R-254 «Irtysh» highway. This was reported by the regional prosecutor«s office.

According to the investigation, on the morning of September 23, 2025, a 47-year-old long-haul trucker driving a Volvo truck with a semi-trailer was speeding and failed to maintain constant control over the vehicle.

As a result, the driver did not notice a line of cars that had stopped at a traffic light in his lane and was unable to brake. The truck collided with a GAZ-322132 vehicle, which was thrown under the semi-trailer of another truck.

In the accident, the Gazelle and the tractor unit completely burned out. The driver of the GAZ-322132 died at the scene.

The criminal case has been transferred to the Barabinsky District Court for consideration on the merits.

On February 2, the truck driver died in a traffic accident— he was run over by his own vehicle.
