Authorities in the Stavropol region are actively fighting drug couriers, but unfortunately, sometimes the offenders are very young. That was the case this time — two teenagers were caught with illicit substances.
According to the Stavropol Investigative Committee (a regional branch of Russia«s Investigative Committee), a 16-year-old young man and his 15-year-old friend attempted to sell drugs using stashes in November 2025. However, their business plan failed as law enforcement arrested both.
The 16-year-old is now suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Item «g» of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempted large-scale drug trafficking). This article carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison. Investigators are currently gathering evidence and looking into possible involvement of other individuals.
The teenager who has not yet turned 16 (the age of criminal responsibility) has been placed on preventive registration. The young Stavropol resident and his legal representative may face administrative penalties.
As a reminder, recently officers from the drug control department received information that 22-year-old previously convicted resident of the stanitsa (Cossack village) of Essentukskaya was involved in painting drug advertisements on buildings and city objects. The young man was detained and taken to the station. Police found photos in his phone showing the results of his «work,» which confirmed the illegal activity.
