Teenager plotted mass killing at Omsk region school

A court in Russia's Omsk region has remanded a teenager in custody. He is accused of involvement with a terrorist organization and planning a school attack.

The Tyukalinsky City Court in Omsk region has ordered a teenager to be held in custody, the regional courts« joint press service reported. He is accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization.

According to investigators, the youth supported the ideology of a terrorist organization, searched for information about it online, and discussed carrying out mass killings in schools. He also purchased tactical gloves, a pneumatic pistol, and t-shirts with the terrorist organization«s symbols.

The teenager planned to kill several students and staff at an educational institution using explosives and firearms, and had been developing a plan for the crime.

He will remain in pre-trial detention until 28 March 2026. The court«s ruling has not yet entered into force.
