Suspicious Pedestrian Leads Tolyatti Police to Drug Operation

The «pedestrian» was preparing to sell a large batch of dangerous substances to Tolyatti residents.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (GU MVD) reported how they tracked down a man allegedly involved in drug trafficking. The police conducted the operation jointly with investigators.
«One evening, traffic police officers at the »Rubezh« checkpoint — located on the M-5 highway in Tolyatti — noticed a suspicious pedestrian. The man was walking, constantly looking back. They stopped him to check his documents, and it turned out that the 37-year-old resident of Syzran had been repeatedly convicted of serious crimes. The detainee was nervous, confused in his testimony, and during a personal search, a packet with a powdery substance was found on him. He admitted that he had purchased dangerous substances online and intended to sell them using hidden stashes in Tolyatti,» the police said.
The information was passed to the duty unit, after which an investigative-operational group and officers from the drug control department arrived at the scene. They went to the suspicious pedestrian«s apartment and conducted a search there.
«On site, six smoking devices with liquid were found, and in his phone — photos of made stashes. The police established the location of the caches and seized several dozen packets with narcotic substances in Syzran, near the detained man»s parents« house,» commented the GU MVD of Russia for the Samara Region.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 228.1 of the Russian Criminal Code «Attempted sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale.» The court placed the suspect in custody.
In autumn, police detained a «death dealer» in Tolyatti — he attempted to sell a large batch of drugs in one of the residential quarters of the Avtozavodsky District.
