Shooter at Magadan Restaurant Sent to Pre-Trial Detention

The suspect in the shooting at the Magadan restaurant has been arrested for two months. The court made that decision, according to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) for the Rostov Region.

The man had a traumatic pistol and the car he used to flee the scene confiscated. The car has been seized «because the article»s sanction provides for an additional type of punishment in the form of a fine of up to 1 million rubles (approximately $11,100 at current rates) or other income of the perpetrator for a period of up to 4 years«, police explained.

Investigators from the Rostov police have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 213 («Hooliganism»). The conflict occurred on the night of July 19 on the street near the restaurant: two men, aged 32 and 34, started shooting at each other with traumatic pistols. Both had permits for the weapons. As a result, one of the shooters and a security guard were wounded.
