Schoolgirl's Killer Delivers Final Statement in Court

Sergei Berezovich, who is accused of murdering a schoolgirl in 2007, has spoken his last word in court. He was brief, according to E1.RU correspondents from the courtroom.

«I want to say that I have repented before people, and I will repent for my sins before God,» the defendant stated.
In 2007, Sergei Berezovich was a suspect in a case of lewd acts against 11-year-old Lyuba, whom he knew. On May 10, 2007, the girl left home and went missing.
As Berezovich later recounted, the schoolgirl was sitting with him in his car and threatened to report him to the police again. Then he strangled her and then burned the body. The next morning, the man collected the ashes of the murdered girl in a bucket and disposed of them, scattering them near the Chusovaya River.
In 2014, Sergei sold his house in the village of Nikolo-Pavlovsk and moved to another region, where he led a normal life. He married and raised two children. But several years ago, he was convicted for a similar crime. A court in Crimea sentenced Berezovich to a term for lewd acts of a sexual nature. While already serving this sentence, he wrote a confession and admitted to the murder of Lyuba, committed 19 years ago.
Earlier, we wrote about a similar case that occurred in Nyagan in 2011. The criminal was apprehended in 2025 in Pervouralsk.
