Sauna owner jailed after Prokopyevsk fire kills five teens — video

Restrictive measures have been chosen for the owner and administrator of a private sauna where a fire on January 31 claimed the lives of five teenagers. A group of schoolchildren and students from the Prokopyevsk Physical Education College gathered to celebrate the birthdays of three friends, but the evening ended in tragedy. In the midst of the evening, a fire broke out in the two-story premises, from which only one 16-year-old visitor managed to escape. The other teenagers were unable to leave the sauna. Rescuers spent an hour extinguishing the illegal recreation zone, which, according to the investigation, had no fire extinguishers and accessible emergency exits.

The administrator of the organization was detained first, who let the teenagers into the establishment without supervision, and also, according to the investigation, the ignition might have occurred due to her actions with stoking the stove.
