Sauna Owner Detained After Fatal Fire
Pre-trial restrictions have been imposed on the owner and administrator of a private sauna where a fire on January 31 claimed the lives of five teenagers. The group of young people had gathered to celebrate three birthdays, but the celebration turned to tragedy.
During the height of the party, a fire broke out in the two-story building. Only one 16-year-old girl managed to escape the flames. The other teenagers could not get out. Firefighters spent an hour battling the blaze at the unlicensed recreational facility, which investigators say lacked fire extinguishers and accessible emergency exits.
The administrator of the establishment was the first to be detained. According to investigators, she allowed the minors into the venue without adult supervision, and her actions while stoking the stove may have started the fire. Two co-owners of the sauna were soon located.
The court«s decision in the case and further details of the incident are available in the video above.
